The owners – Adrian and Marta Falatyn at some point of time made few difficult life changing decisions. They gave up their careers in corporations and decided to open the restaurant in the ‘slow’ spirit. Hence the name referring to the slow food movement, although their shrine doesn’t have a recommendation of this organization. At first they were supposed to serve 27 portions per day, but life modified their plans. The name yet remained. The place is located in a recently built block. Only a dozen or so years ago there was here an open field. The interior is rather small, straight, decorated in a Scandinavian style. The place has a family atmosphere. The owners try to prepare the food basing on the Polish high quality products, introducing it in an original way. Products come from carefully chosen producers and suppliers. The menu is short, seasonal and full of surprises. In the menu one may find quite a lot of giblets, what is strictly associated with the owners approach towards the animals – from the respect towards them the owners don’t waste what the nature gives us. The menu is being changed every month. In June the owners invite us for the sea perch with the rhubarb and the celery, duck with strawberries, ribs sous vide, a vegetable or fruit soup prepared with sour cream and served cold of newly pickled cucumbers, gooseberry soup, veal lungs on dumpling and veal liver.

“Is Katowice located in a factory? Do polar bears roam the streets?”* We went to see it in the flesh! We discovered a region in the process of transformation, with enormous number of new buildings – massive, institutional, just commissioned. The situation of local gastronomy is also changing dynamically. A half of the places we

Krakow’s Zenit is a real cabinet of curiosities. The walls are a mosaic of graphics, photos, paintings, objects, souvenirs and other treasures collected by the owners. The beautifully designed interior matches the excellent breakfast and the lunch menu offers. There are vegetarian breakfasts or sausages with ash, pour-over coffee or latte, ceviche and tomato soup.
