AUTOGRAPH IN A BOTTLE

Browar Stu Mostów is a space in Wrocław owned by Grzegorz and Arletta Ziemian. Their concept involved not only keeping a place where beer is brewed. It is also a platform for shaping a new beer culture in Poland. They took what is most important from the tradition, combining it with the awareness and knowledge of the XXI century. They hired the best people in the industry and gave them a free rein. They opened a place for exchanging thoughts. Not a year has passed since they started producing the highest quality beer based solely on natural processes, selected ingredients and craftsmanship of brewing. Beer lovers can find in their repertoire three brands: WRCLW, which is a nod to tradition, SALAMANDER – which represents what is new and revolutionary, and ART – which is creative, developed by creative and for creative people.
Last week a release of the new beer from the last brand took place. ART Coffee Milk Dark Lager is the third after Doppel Weizenbock German IPA and Magnum Opus. Remarkable and challenging beers, which already have loyal buyers. It can be proofed by the crowds, which came to the brewery for the first pints of dark-ruby drink created in cooperation with the brand Czarny Deszcz.

A meeting of two craftsmen who try to know as much as possible about the industry resulted in this product. A bridge built between two specialists is a continuing work in progress: “A meeting with another craftsman, whose cooperation is not only limited to sending his product but also who doesn’t leave me alone with the experiment is very inspiring and teaches a lot. Here everything was discussed and tested together. Our experience in the industries in which we work, have been combined, exposed to challenges on the new field. The cooperation created something valuable. I learned a lot. “- says Mateusz Gulej.

The brewer already created a recipe that combined beer and coffee, but usually he chose stout, of which he is a big fan. In this case, he was inspired by Filip Kucharczyk’s (Czarny Deszcz) choice of coffee and has decided to explore new areas and chose a German Schwarzlager. Peruvian Arabica “Peru-Elmer Pena” – not too acidic, mildly smoked, with a taste reminiscent of marzipan and fruit in chocolate, is surprisingly combined with a clean, clear taste of lager. The craftsmen decided to add the Arabica to the beer in two stages – a smaller portion at the end of the cooking process with hops and bigger portion to the beer in a process of ageing, in which the method of “cold brewing” was used. Complimentary to the process was the addition of lactose, which doesn’t decompose in the process of yeast fermentation – the ART Coffee Milk Dark Lager owns the sweetness and silkiness to the milk sugar.

ART Coffee Milk Dark Lager is a symbol of the exchange of experiences, experiments, mutual learning, something which is not easy and obvious, but broadens horizons and brings a lot of satisfaction. The beer is light, refreshing, not too overwhelming and well-balanced. It’s like an autograph – you know who wrote it, is available in a limited quantity and is more valuable than an anonymous signature. To buy in the Browar Stu Mostów’s pub, and bottled from July 24th in specialist stores in Wroclaw and whole Poland.
