The exhibition entitled “I am the sea and nobody owns me” is derived from the Pippi Longstocking’s motto, humorous manifesto of a child, a woman, an artist for independence and creative freedom. After more than 10 years working as an illustrator on request Agata Endo Nowicka decides to show work that has not been realized on request. Collages created during her travels, sketches or drawings derive from the power of experimentation, observation and randomness. The road to the liberation from her own style associated with a computer pixel aesthetics leads Agata perversely through returning to traditional tools. At the exhibition you can see work done in ink and gold leaf or sketched in pencil. There are two-dimensional drawings and collages, but also three-dimensional mini-installations made of sketches, paper and frames. Endo, a girl from the sea, shows with the theme of water and the force of spontaneity her last exhibition in Poland before moving overseas.
Opening of the exhibition on September 17th, 7pm
USTA is a patron of the exhibition.
