The landscapes of Lower Beskids mountain range are stunning in every season and in every place – in the shadow of an old orthodox church in Bieliczna, among the pastures of Regietów Wyżny, at the end of Blechnarka village or near the wild orchards in Oderne village. In the winter there are breath-taking snow-capped beech and fir woods while in the summer there are warm evenings, smelling of herbs, a perfect time to catch lightening bugs in jars. And on top of that, enjoying local delicacies that taste like nothing else after a long walk!
Goat ‘bryndza’ cheese, sheep ‘bundz’ cheese, sausages from tin smokehouse, vegetables from home garden, marinated boletuses, pickled saffron milk cups, leaven bread and flat bread ‘podpłomyki’ baked on open stove.
Sour oat soup ‘żur’, cabbage and meat stew ‘bigos’ with dried bay boletes, baked turkey and… wild holes in the ground. Meat and vegetables garnished with fresh herbs, covered with turf and baked in a ground oven. Elderflower lemonade, spring water sweetened with honeydew honey, ‘kompot’ fruit drink with spices. Blackberries and marzipan tarts, leavened cake with plums, chocolate cake. And craft beer from Grybów chilled in the stream.
And there is the bonfire. And the musicians from a nearby village. The singing, the talking, the new friendships, which you will be remembering the whole year. Or the whole life. Interesting?
