Coffee on the Swallow’s Tail

From the outside of the building you can see a neon of a swallow. It was designed by Michał Loba, a graduate of Design School in Poznań. Jaskółka is a tiny place, it has only 45 square metres and 6 tables. It mostly serves coffee in several variations (espresso, cappuccino, filter coffee, flat white, oriental latte), shakes or ginger drinks. These can be accompanied by oat and date tart or a sandwich with avocado, dried tomatoes and pear. The lunch, every day different, is served from 13.00.
Jaskółka is a family initiative: the owner of the place is the mum of Tosia Kiliś from the famous duo Fenek St, who runs Jurta café in Kępa Potocka on a daily basis. Fenek designed the interior, putting some of their plates on one of the walls. And in the window there are a lot of plants. The floor is made of colourful tiles – reminding of “gorseciki” – corset-shaped tiles which used to be popular in Warsaw in the 1930s. Tomasz Kiliś executed the interior according to the project by Agata and Tosia from Fenek. Finally, the coffee is being taken care of by Jan, the son of Edyta.
