Meteors in Rabka

Playing with the complex worlds of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, together we will discover forgotten spaces to which lead paths overgrown with moss and thorny barberries. The buildings of the vacant and dilapidating tuberculosis hospital in Turczynek will appear on the edge of night and day at Villa Kadenówka in the form of ceramic sculptures. Swallowtail-clad growths on the old apple trees in Stawisko, feeding on bygone events and places, will grow fractally on the guests’ heads, and watching closely their dancing to Karol Szymanowski’s Songs of the Night will be a blue panther wearing faux-marble polychromes. As soon as the sun sets, a closely guarded second heaven will open in the attic, showing ‘fragile foam on the thighs of stone’ – a calamus-smelling painting where one will be able to relax alone on a mattress of freshly mowed grass. This living – but utterly invented – picture will turn out to have been but a fleeting reflection that will be exposed by corralimorph mirrors. The ephemeral images created on their surface will irrevocably disappear, whereas the mirrors themselves, bound in massive frames covered with Harlequin glaze, will remain.
