She is especially fond of tropical plants with huge leaves – such as philodendrons and cactuses, the favourite of which is Christmas Cactus because it is bright and its flowers have weird shapes. Each embroidery is based on a real-life composition of shapes and colours, then brought onto paper as a drawing and finally into hand-made embroidery by Sarah. It takes about 2 hours to complete the smallest one, while the biggest, most complicated one – 30 hours. She confirms that all her works are hand-made and she doesn’t even have a sewing machine.
