There is a shock at first. Always. Because you seemingly know what to expect, but the real city is more impressive than the numbers in guidebooks or the outlines drawn on maps. Istanbul is overpowering. It hits all the senses, turns heads. The first reaction - intimidation. Or perhaps even a sense of being overwhelmed by the sounds, the constant movement around. But this passes with the first cup of strong, bitter tea, which wakes you up and grounds you in new territory. It also passes with the first breakfast of a million plates: with crunchy green peppers, black olives, kaymak topped with honey and eggs in sour yoghurt. It passes with the first ferry ride connecting two parts of the city and two continents.

Small Italy in Warsaw

For the love of Italy The décor of Allora's menu is an original interpretation of the Italian climate of its owners Karolina and Łukasz Kwaśniewski, who agree that Italy has been their favourite destination for many years, and that the cuisine there brings back some of their most beautiful memories.

Bauhaus apartment

As you ascend the maroon, unique terrazzo staircase, you have the impression that you are stepping back to the turn of the 20/30s, a period full of energy when the Bauhaus spirit was taking over Europe and Warsaw was called the Paris of the North. The "Bauhaus" apartments are located in the Functional House at the intersection of Jakubowska and Estońska streets. The building is a great example of functionalism. The furnishings of the apartment is the result of several years of searching for an appropriate form of interior design for the House. The owners were inspired by the vision of what apartments could have looked like at that time. Original, auction-searched, meticulously restored furniture, designed and made in the spirit of Bauhaus ideas, give the place a unique character.

There is no one ideal femininity. There is no such thing as singular identity. There are no clothes for just one occasion. And no clothes fit everybody in the same way. FW2021/22 collection by Acephala is an ode to individual style and idiosyncratic expression. Living in the world of overproduction and constant temporality, we challenged ourselves to create clothes that could fit in many different closets and stay in those closets for longer than just one season. The collection is a set of garments that are minimalistic and essential yet with a twist that makes them unique - be it either construction, pattern, fabric or detailing.

Made to be in harmony with nature Aurum Bloom jewellery is manufactured in Poland with exceptional high quality. Each piece is made from recycled 18k gold. In a mesmerizing play with light and shadow, the irresistible forms are revealed through a captivating design. In our “Tear” collection we focus on how gold reflects light in each tear and how it feels in your hands. The inspiration for the “Sunday” cross shape was the wax dripping down the candle in the Church. Each piece reflects light perfectly. Starting with a simple idea, Aurum Bloom was reimagined through experimenting and an understanding of how our jewellery should look and feel like.

Tokyo streets are full of endless culinary and drinking establishments, having a strong enough voice and uniqueness to stick out is always a challenge. Located in between Hiroo and Ebisu stations - Gem by Moto has succeeded to do this over the past few years. A Sake bar with the utmost respect to Sake on the one hand but with a huge freedom Marie Chiba who opened the place in 2015 took for herself for redefinition and expression in any element and aspect relating to Sake and the way we enjoy it. Collaborating with the most interesting younger generation of Sake brewers in Japan.

Souvenirs from the Seaside

Fridge magnets, whistling seagulls, seashell caskets or bracelets with burnt letters with your name – this sort of images pop up in my head when I think of the “souvenirs from the seaside”. It turns out that luckily, one can see the light at the end of this camp tunnel. “Zatoka –  autorskie pamiątki” (Eng. “The Bay – Original Souvenirs”) is an initiative launched by Fundacja Palma. The organisers invited a group of artists from the Tri-city to design souvenirs from the seaside. Finally, you can bring something from your holidays that won’t feel awkward!

Gluten Heaven in Żoliborz

When Monika Walecka bought a family apartment in the Warsaw district of Żoliborz, she started dreaming of opening a local bakery where she would bake bread for her neighbours. She found her place on the ground floor a modernist 4th Warsaw Colony building from 1930. One of the neighbours, Maurycy Gomulicki who lives in the same building, designed a logo for the bakery – a mermaid holding a baguette. This is how "Cała W Mące" (Eng. “Flour-covered”) was born, a bakery that stole the hearts of many people of Warsaw, not only Monika’s neighbours.

Singapore Food Festival 2020

Singapore is famous for its diversity among food lovers. Here you can discover flavors from many corners of the world, both street food and Michelin-starred. Singapore Food Festival is their celebration, which will be held in a virtual form for the first time in 27 years. Thanks to this, festival goers from all over the world will have the opportunity to take part virtually in attractions prepared by more than 25 partners. During two weekends in August (21–23 August and 28–30 August), participants will join virtual food tours, live masterclasses, look at the cooperation of chefs.
